Chippin away...

I'm slowly building the concepts and story for my book. Last night I uploaded a character design for one of the protagonists. I said I wouldn't give away too much info on the concept, but I did post some of the back story for the character, Estro, on my blog. If you're interested in reading a bit about who he is please visit the blog and feel free to comment.
I have, however , run into a slight challenge. I completely forgot that the original idea for even making a book came from my painting "Necromantic Goddess." That being said; I need to find away to finesse the two universes together. It's actually quite exciting. The story and characters I've been recently coming up with, Estro included, have had a more Steampunk/Cyberpunk influence. The idea was going to be centered around technology and how it affects people as a whole... Now I need to consider how I can incorporate magic.
I love fantasy so I'm sure I'll be able to do this and still write a cohesive epic tale. I'm actually excited by the challenge. Bridging two genres I deeply love, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, it's like the ultimate project. What's more is that it allows me to create artwork that truly connects to my soul.
My good friend Dima scoffs and jokes at the expense of my book, but I know he's genuinely intrigued by the prospect. He's never doubted my potential for great imagining of fictional worlds. He may doubt my ability as a writer, but that's why I have him as an intellectual resource (he's very smart). Something I do hope I find throughout this journey to become an author is a friend and mentor that has legitimate experience in this industry. Someone I can collaborate to a certain extent and possibly someone to write my forward.
That's all for now. Catch ya'll later!
